OUR STORY
FAEH was formally created as a nonprofit in January 2024
Four friends, Jean, Smith, Garcien, and Phalange reconnected following the 2021 Haitian Earthquake that affected their hometown. The school they all met in was unfortunately destroyed, and the group met to discuss how they could help their beloved school and community. The team reflected on all the people who were able to help them financially when they were at their lowest and helped them achieve their goals of becoming successful, educated professionals. The group of four decided that the best thing they could do was pay it forward and give financially to gifted, intelligent students who didn’t have the resources to continue their education on their own.

FAEH is actively seeking partners to expand its network and share its mission with a broader audience.
Currency Exchange
The exchange rate from USD to the Haitian Gourde is upwards of 133%, making every dollar extremely valuable. For instance, a $10,000 tuition can be covered with just $75 USD, highlighting the significant impact of donations.
Education System
Haiti’s education system is modeled after the French system, with public schools teaching in French and Haitian Creole, while Catholic private schools use French exclusively.
Value of Education
Despite the challenges of living in a war-torn country, Haitians highly value education. However, the unstable economy makes it difficult for families to afford schooling. Many students attend schools in major cities like Port-au-Prince and Les Cayes, which are known for their educational institutions and bustling ports.
